She came back to Alabama to get married. Growing up an “MK” (missionary kid) had its own set up exciting adventures, but when it was time to tie the knot, Abbie wanted to come back to Baldwin County for great memories of her wedding day.

Following a romantic ceremony on the beach, the entire wedding party traveled to “Lilies of the Field” where we had prepared a wedding feast. The food was served up hot and so was the party! We know these folks well and were able to customize a menu that met their expectations and excited their guests. They chose a rustic country theme and we had a lot of fun with fresh ideas. Lots of burlap and iron, mixed with old wooden crates, glass jars and simple flowers created “the look!” The buffet line was served on two long hand-made wooden tables that set the tone for the theme.

The line began with some refreshing salads that created great color on the country tables. Serving these in large white glass dishes really made the colors pop!  Add that to the custom made farm tables and it really sets the tone for a memorable outdoor dining event.

Fresh fruit is always a hit on Alabama summer days.  This was no exception as the guests eagerly loaded their plates with sweet grapes and juicy strawberries even before reaching the main dishes.

How can you have a country wedding without mouth-watering veggies? Sure there were the traditional green beans for the faint-of-heart diners, but we worked with the bride to offer this scrumptious roasted veggie casserole. It made for a fine presentation and the guests loved it!

Home-made yeast rolls anyone? Always a hit with any crowd, these fluffy creations disappeared two or three at a time!  We saw many guests turning them into buttery delicacies or even impromptu sandwiches.

Abbie had already decided that she wanted a root beer float station for her wedding. Her parents added this special touch by finding an old root beer keg at a local antique shop!
